As my week gears into to overdrive as my four months of planning Fall ‘Fro Fashion Week culminates this weekend I reflect on the many hurdles and triumphs throughout this process. Myself and the ‘Fro Fashion Week staff work tirelessly to bring the natural hair and beauty industry to next level by advancing to become the pinnacle event for trends each season.
‘Fro Fashion Week’s goal is not to have thousands of women stampeding around but rather cater to hundreds of sophisticated natural women that desire to be educated and entertained.
It is important to note that ‘Fro Fashion Week is a major event that is not put on by a major corporation with millions of dollars and nameless faces, but by a mere 23 year old aspiring media maven with a vision.’Fro Fashion Week is put on for the community, by the community. When thinking of ‘Fro Fashion Week ideas and concepts I always look at it from my point of view, as I am the person I want to reach. Not just a board room filled with executives examining market research data on minority groups in the beauty industry. I am the consumer!, I am you!
