Myavana, the real talk show, the real show, the real

Girl Scientists’ Hip Haircare Health

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Now, what inspired you to start the company?

Chanel Martin: So a few years back, when I was planning a wedding, I was trying to find the right products for my hair. And I spent like countless hours searching and I came up empty. And so I was like, okay, hey, I’m a chemical engineer, I can figure out something to make this work for me. And then Candace – she experienced using the wrong products and broke off all of her hair. And so, together, we just used our brainpower and we decided to create Myavana.

The Real hosts: Wow.

Adrienne Bailon: This sounds amazing. So the question is, Can you guys treat all types of hair?

Candace Mitchell: Yes, absolutely. So what we discovered through our research is that your hair is as unique as your fingerprint.

Tamar Braxton: Shut up!

Candace: Yes, yes it is. Biologically, our hair is a reflection of who we are biologically. And we started out initially for African American women, but now we’re expanding to serve women of all ethnicities. And we are experts now in global hair textures and we look forward to helping women around the world.
