Apple Cider Vinegar rinse for hair

apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar rinse is good for your hair because it balances the pH in your hair, removes build up, and kill bacteria, get rid of dandruff, and strengthens the hair shaft.

I first came across the Apple cider Vinegar rinse for hair on nappturality.com and fotki.com wayyy back in the day. I tried it a few times on my own hair in the past and decided to share it with you. TIP: DO NOT USE apple cider vinegar rinse if you have color treated hair! It will strip the color.

In order to use this recipe you have to get the right kind of apple cider vinegar. Normally the one you have in your kitchen cabinet is not potent enough to do the job.

You need unpasteurized and unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar that has  ”The Mother” in it. You see the kind of apple cider vinegar that is in your cabinet gets rid of ” the mother”,because to be honest it’s not pretty to look at. It is a stringy substance that settles at the bottom but has all of the healing properties in it.

Ingredients:

Distilled Water
Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

Spray Bottle

  1. Make the rinse by mixing 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 qt. of distilled water.

Put the mixture in a plastic bottle and bring it into the shower or bath.

  2. Shampoo hair and rinse well.

Apply the apple cider vinegar rinse to your hair. Leave it in for a few seconds.

Rinse your hair using cold water to seal the hair shaft and create more shine. Because vinegar is acidic, using the rinse daily is not advised. Try it once a week at most. Pay attention to how your hair responds and adjust use accordingly. You don’t need to condition hair after the rinse.

  3. Dry your hair with a towel. If you notice a vinegar scent after you’re done rinsing, don’t fret. The smell will disappear after your hair dries.
