Natural Hair Styles: Frohawk
The infamous Frohawk is a combination word made up of afro and mohawk natural hair styles. This popular style can be seen paired with cornrows, bantu knots, flat twists, buns, twists, and even roller sets.
This funky style is definitely a head turner and can be achieved on natural hair starting at about 3 inches.
Frohawks can be done on wash and go hair or twist outs. If you would like your style to last longer you may want to style on twist out hair.
A simple version of this style is to smooth up the sides of the hair towards the center of the head and using bobby pins or a banana clip ( for shorter hair) to secure the hair in place.
Tools:
- gel
- soft bristle brush
- ponytail holders (optional)
- I recommend using the long flat bobby pins for more control especially if you have thick hair.
Frohawk with Buns:
A bunhawk can be achieved by smoothing your hair upward and making 3 ponytails going down the center of your head.
Separate each ponytail into two pieces.
Roll each piece back positioning it in the center and pin with bobby pins towards the nape of your neck.
This style is great for longer hair that may flop over and end up not looking like a frohawk as it provides the structure.
