Pin Me Up:1950′s era hair styles
For the past 3 or 4 months I have been stuck in a style rut. I was consistently just wearing low buns and puffs. I have reached a plateau point in my natural hair journey that many of you will experience sooner or later if you haven’t already. I have been natural for more than 4 years and I have reached the point where I am no longer thrilled with length checks, hair types, or getting my hair to curl like a product says. Therefore, I have to stimulate myself every so often with refreshing hairstyles.
My new phase that I have been in for the last 3 weeks is 1950′s era pin up girl type of styles. Here are some styles that I LOVE and are next on my list. As well some styles I have already done and a tutorial!
Beehive type of style. I’m pretty sure she used a lot of hairspray to achieve this. Good thing for me (and the Ozone) I can just pile my hair up and pin it
I LOVE this! this is so chic and the raven black color really sets it off with the vibrancy and shine.
(Definetly on my to do list)

This pompadour is TO.DIE.FOR.! The completed look with the red flower and red lips make this simple style POP.

My pin up styles (so far) all done on a bantu knot out with Organic Root Stimulator Lock & Twist Gel

I love it…very nice!
You look beautiful. My entire family have dreadlocks;mine are 29 inches in length;my daughters have been locked since the age of 3. I gave you that bit of information because people are often amazed of the styles I come up with for myself and them. We are “free-formers”, so no twisting, etc. Like you, I am inspired by certain looks in time. I imagine my hair or my daughters’ hair in certain styles and just do them;I adorn the hair with bows and all great hair accessories (of course, the icing on the cake). Sometimes because hair isn’t straight, I think a lot of sistas believe they cannot do much with their natural hair. The thing is #IMO, our hair is going to look even hotter because of the texture;that texture already is a work of art, so how much more the style. Yes, you are a bombshell, and I must say although inspired by the pinup style, your look tops it. All one needs is inspiration and creativity. Rock on!
Ooooooh!
If only my hair was long enough to try this style….
I need a few more years!
